About me
Like many working class creatives, my route has been anything but linear, but through sheer grit and determination I’ve been able to carve out my own niche, and I now have a wealth of experience in both commissioning and writing editorial pieces. On top of my editorial exploits, I’ve worked with several brands in various different sectors, from Netflix to Havana Club to New Balance and JD Sports. Regardless, of where I find myself working, I always ensure that my writing is passionate, interesting and above all, well researched.
Aside from my cutting edge music journalism, other tangible examples of me utilising these skills to help artists vie for our attention is when I’m writing eye catching press releases, and artist bios. I’ve also done the PR for a grassroots artist during a single campaign, learning and providing my unique insight at the same time. I’ve also begun to explore more work on screen, and have worked as an assistant producer on documentaries and I am currently undergoing training to become a video editor.
During my time at GRM, I was able to build a great deal of operational experience, to go alongside the creative aspects of my skillset. I handled commercial relations and negations, and worked hard to ensure that all clients that I dealt with personally had a seamless first class experience, through my consistent, and clear communication. I’ve built many meaningful (non transactional) relationships, as anyone that I’ve worked with can attest to my industrious work rate, genuine love for music, and desire to help good music reach as many ears as possible. So wherever I go I always bring a strong network of industry relationships with me.
